On Monday afternoon, January 23, 2017, a 23-year-old man overdosed on heroin and crashed into an embankment near the I-85 exit off Baker Road, injuring his 14-month-old son who was also in the vehicle. The toddler was taken to a Greensboro hospital and treated for injuries.
The very next day, an unidentified woman driving a vehicle with two children in the back seat crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on West Fairfield Road.
In yet another heroin-related accident, a man and woman were found passed out in the front seats of a wrecked car with two uninjured children in the back seat, according to Police Captain Michael Kirk.
