I’m Brian Ricci, a Greenville car accident lawyer. Just twelve days ago, in Craven County, North Carolina, Patricia Sparrow, a Belhaven woman was tragically killed in a two-car collision. The accident took place at the intersection of River Road and Nelson Road on February 4th. Yet another fatal accident has occurred at that same intersection on Thursday February 16th around 10:45am.
Troopers say a Toyota passenger car driven by Pamela Tello, 38, of Chocowinity failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled out in front of an oncoming tractor trailer. During the collision, both the truck and Toyota were driven off of the side of the road. Police say no charges have yet been filed in the crash as of today. Residents of the neighborhood near this dangerous intersection say that the stop sign may be difficult to see and encourage the NC Department of Transportation to consider placing a better sign or blinking lights at the intersection.
Were There Any Injuries?
The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured. On the other hand, Tello and two other passengers, Sherri Nichols, 40, and Edward Nichols, 4, were all transported to Vidant Medical Center for treatment. Tragically, Samantha Anderson, 16, and Angel Nichols, 4, both of Dover were killed in the collision. This brings the number of people killed at this intersection to three in just twelve days.
