Apex, NC (December 22, 2020) – On December 18, a serious hit-and-run accident took place on a major roadway in Apex.
According to police, 27-year-old Dale Taylor was driving his Cadillac headed southbound on NC-55. At the same time, a Ford Escape was making a left turn onto the highway from a parking lot at an ABC Store.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Ford, as well as his female passenger, were seriously injured and hospitalized. Taylor was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries but then fled the hospital and police could not find him.
Police have since confirmed that Taylor is facing charges of aggravated felony serious injury, driving while impaired, reckless driving, speeding, and more.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
