Asheville, NC – One Injured in Truck Accident in WB Lanes of I-26

Asheville, NC (October 27, 2020) – Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning, October 27, one person was injured in a truck accident in Asheville.

According to officials, the accident took place on I-26 around the area of Captain Jeff Bowen Bridge and Hill Street. The accident occurred between a dump truck and a small SUV for reasons that are not yet known. The SUV was badly damaged as a result of the crash.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the accident to assist those in need. One person from the SUV, who has not yet been identified, was hospitalized due to their injuries. Their condition is not yet known.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. The road was fully reopened by 10:30 a.m.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
