Burlington, NC (November 13, 2020) – Around 12:37 p.m. on Friday, November 12, a pedestrian accident involving a minivan into a building occurred in Burlington.
According to the Burlington Police Department, the accident took place at 267 Front Street when a minivan lost control due to unknown reasons, slamming into the police building. Police confirmed that the act appeared to be intentional.
An employee inside the building was struck by the minivan. The unidentified pedestrian was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, the front doors of the police department were badly damaged. The roadway was blocked for a short period of time in the area as a result of the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
