Chapel Hill, NC (August 31, 2020) – Around 6 p.m. last night, August 30, a pedestrian accident with serious injuries took place in Chapel Hill.
Though few details have been released, police confirmed that the pedestrian was struck on Old Durham Road around the area of Scarlett Drive. The driver who struck the unidentified victim immediately fled the scene of the accident.
The pedestrian received serious injuries and was immediately transported to UNC Hospitals by paramedics. Their current condition is not yet known.
It is believed that the driver who struck the pedestrian was in a silver Jeep or a similar vehicle at the time.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
