Charlotte, NC – Car Accident with Injuries at Statesville Rd and Sunset Rd

Charlotte, NC (August 26, 2020) – Around 2 p.m. this afternoon, police responded to the scene of a serious car accident with injuries at a Charlotte intersection.

Though few details have been released regarding the collision, police have confirmed that the crash took place at the intersection of Statesville Road and Sunset Road. The crash happened when two vehicles enter the intersection simultaneously when they suddenly collided with one another for reasons that are still being investigated. According to witnesses, the damages to both vehicles was extensive.

Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were present at the scene of the accident to assist those with injuries. The injured victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, though it is not yet known how many were injured or what their current conditions are.

The roadway was blocked for an extensive period of time in the area.
