Charlotte, NC (August 27, 2020) – Around 6:10 p.m. on August 26, police responded to the scene of a car crash at an intersection in Charlotte.
The accident, according to police, took place at the intersection of Independence Boulevard and Sardis Road North. Police confirmed that two vehicles collided with each other when one of the vehicles struck the rear end of another vehicle trying to turn at the intersection.
According to police, one of the vehicles had extensive front-end damages. Fire crews worked to extricate one or more victims from the vehicle.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the accident to assist those with injuries. It is not known how many were transported to the hospital or what their conditions were.
Both lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extensive period of time until police cleared the roadway.
