Charlotte, NC (August 26, 2020) – Late tonight, police responded to the scene of a hit-and-run accident at an intersection in Charlotte.
Charlotte Police confirmed that the accident took place at 4126 North Sharon Amity Road when two vehicles collided for reasons that are not yet known by police. One of the vehicles immediately fled the scene of the accident, leaving the other damaged vehicle behind. It is not known if the police caught the driver responsible.
Paramedics and fire crews were present at the scene of the accident to assist those with injuries. One or more victims in the vehicle that remained at the scene were injured and transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time following the accident.
No further details have been provided. The investigation is currently ongoing.
