Charlotte, NC (November 6, 2020) – Around 6 a.m. on Friday morning, November 6, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Charlotte.
According to officials, the accident took place on I-485 in the area of Johnston Road when five vehicles collided with each other for reasons that are not yet known. Two of the vehicles involved were pickup trucks, one of which was carrying asphalt.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision. They assisted one or more victims with injuries, though the extent of the injuries is not yet known.
Backups were reported in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those traveling in the area to use Ballantyne Commons Parkway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
