Charlotte, NC (August 29, 2020) – On Thursday, August 27 at an unspecified time, a worker was killed at a plant in a fatal pedestrian accident.
According to authorities, 56-year-old Robert Sledzewski just got off of his shift at the Snyder’s-Lance plant and was headed to his vehicle in the parking lot. As he walked through a loading dock when he was struck by a truck.
Police confirmed that Sledzewski was walking through the dock when the truck driver made a turn into the loading dock to retrieve a trailer. The driver claimed that they never saw Sledzewski until it was too late.
The driver was not impaired at the time of the accident. Police confirmed that Sledzewski was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
No charges are currently pending but the investigation continues.
