Charlotte, NC – Serious Car Crash on Governor James G Martin Fwy

Charlotte, NC (September 1, 2020) – Around 5:26 a.m. this morning, September 1, a serious car crash with injuries took place on a Charlotte highway.

Few details have been released at this time but it is believed that the collision took place when four vehicles forcefully collided on Governor James G. Martin Freeway (I-485) around the area of I-77 and Arrowood Road. Multiple vehicles had extensive front-end damage and debris was left scattered all over a portion of the highway.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident where they assisted those with injuries. The injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was entirely blocked in the area of the accident for some time as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
