Charlotte, NC (December 17, 2020) – Around 8:41 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, December 17, a truck accident took place in Charlotte.
Few details have been released but it is believed that the accident occurred when an 18-wheeler struck a passenger vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-85 headed toward Belmont. Police confirmed that the truck continued onward without stopping. It is not known if the driver knew that they hit the vehicle.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene where they assisted the driver of the passenger vehicle with injuries. The party was transported to the hospital for treatment but their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
