Charlotte, NC – Update: Dustin Crosby Killed in Fatal Crash on I-485

Charlotte, NC (October 14, 2020) – Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, October 13, one person was killed in a fatal crash in Charlotte.

According to Highway Patrol officials, the accident occurred on I-485 around the area of Steele Creek Road. Dustin and Katrina Crosby were traveling in a Hyundai when they came to a stop in the left lane of traffic. Another vehicle came along and was not able to stop in time, crashing into their vehicle.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision. Dustin Crosby was pronounced dead at the scene. Katrina and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was temporarily closed in numerous lanes for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
