Clayton, NC (September 21, 2020) – On Sunday, September 21, one person lost their life following a moped accident in Clayton.
According to the police, the accident occurred on Rock Pillar Road around the area of Swift Creek Road near the airport. An unidentified man on a moped was coming down Rock Pillar when he pulled out near the intersection. A vehicle was driving through and struck the moped.
The driver of the moped was immediately ejected from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other driver was not injured as a result.
Troopers have said that the driver of the vehicle did not obtain charges.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
