Durham, NC – Kevin Nichols Injured in Dirt Bike Crash on Hebron Rd

Durham, NC (September 22, 2020) – Around 7:45 p.m. on Monday night, September 21, a man was injured in a dirt bike crash around a Durham intersection.

Police confirmed that the driver of a Mazda 3, identified as 28-year-old Quintin McCorkle, was headed westbound on Hebron Road in the area of Danube Lane when the front fender struck a dirt bike being operated by 41-year-old Kevin Nichols.

Nichols was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. McCorkle, on the other hand, fled the scene of the accident. Police soon located him only miles away from the scene. He has since been charged with felony hit-and-run.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes near the intersection for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation currently continues.
