Durham, NC – Michael Worsman Killed in Motorcycle Crash at Fayetteville Rd

Durham, NC (September 19, 2020) – Around 11 p.m. on Friday night, September 18, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Durham.

Police confirmed that Michael Worsman was driving his motorcycle at the intersection of Fayetteville Road and Stratford Lakes Drive with his passenger and wife, Annie Worsman. Suddenly, their motorcycle was rear-ended by the driver of a Honda Accord.

The driver of the Honda was identified as 26-year-old Timothy Long. He was traveling south on Fayetteville Road when he struck the couple for unknown reasons.

Michael was transported to Duke University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His wife was taken to the hospital with critical injuries but her condition is not yet known.

Long received a citation for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Police confirmed that he was intoxicated at the time of the collision. He was released from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by local police.
