Elizabeth City, NC (September 25, 2020) – Around 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, a pedestrian crash with injuries occurred in Elizabeth City.
The crash, according to police, took place at the intersection of Herrington Road and Weeksville Road around the area of Elizabeth City State University. A male pedestrian was walking across the road when they were suddenly struck by a vehicle in the area.
Paramedics and numerous other emergency responders were present at the scene of the collision to help the injured pedestrian. They were transported to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries is not entirely known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident until the police were able to clear the scene.
Elizabeth City Police continues its investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
