Fayetteville, NC (October 24, 2020) – Officers from the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a fatal car accident that took place at the intersection of Robeson Street and Hay Street at about 10:00 a.m.
Preliminary police reports indicate that a two-car accident, the cause of which has yet to be determined, resulted in one of the vehicles involved flipping over. Of the vehicle’s four occupants, two of them were transported by emergency medical personnel to local hospitals. Their injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the other car was also transported to a nearby trauma center but, due to the severity of his injuries, was pronounced dead a short while later.
The intersection was shut down for about an hour while local law enforcement conducted an investigation and cleared debris from the roadway.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
