Fayetteville, NC – Larrie McKinnon Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Owen Dr

Fayetteville, NC (September 27, 2020) – Around 4 a.m. on Friday morning, September 25, a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Fayetteville. 

According to police, the collision took place in the early morning hours at 1700 Owen Drive. A 71-year-old man identified as Larrie McKinnon was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing the street. It is not known if the driver saw him or not. 

Paramedics transported McKinnon to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead as a result of severe trauma.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was driving a 2018 Nissan Altima. It is not known if they received any charges as a result of the accident.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
