Fayetteville, NC (October 5, 2020) – Around 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, October 3, a fatal head-on collision occurred on a roadway in Fayetteville.
According to Fayetteville Police, the accident took place at 1600 Gillespie Street when two vehicles collided with each other head-on for reasons that are not yet known. The accident caused severe damages to both vehicles.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. There, 31-year-old Regis Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. One other party, identified as a 90-year-old from Fayetteville, was taken to the hospital but later died as a result of her injuries.
Police confirmed that multiple people were also injured, though their identities are not known at this time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
