Franklinton, NC (September 18, 2020) – On Friday night, September 18, five people were injured in a car accident on a Franklinton highway.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on US-401 around the area of Airport Road. Two vehicles were traveling south on the highway when one of them tried to pass the other. This caused a head-on collision with another vehicle.
In the vehicle that tried to pass, there were four passengers and only one in the other vehicle. All five injured victims were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries by paramedics. One person was extricated from their vehicle by fire crews.
Troopers are bringing charges against the driver that attempted to pass.
No further details have been released but the investigation is currently ongoing.
