Garner, NC (September 30, 2020) – Around 10 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, September 29, a multi-vehicle accident took place in Garner.
Wake County officials and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash occurred when multiple vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes of I-40. The accident led to a wide array of damages to the vehicles involved.
It is believed that a North Carolina State Highway Patrol cruiser was involved in the accident, as one of their vehicles had minor damage to its front-end.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the accident to assist those with injuries. It is not known how many people were hospitalized as a result of the accident.
A portion of the roadway was closed down on the highway for an hour as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
