Garner, NC – Two People Killed in Fatal Collision on NC-42

Garner, NC (October 21, 2020) – On Wednesday afternoon, October 21, two people were killed in a fatal collision on a highway in Garner.

Though few details have been released, police confirmed that a sedan and a pickup truck collided with one another on NC-42 around the intersection with I-40. One of the vehicles caught on fire immediately following the accident.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. Numerous victims were injured and hospitalized as a result of the accident. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, though their identities have not yet been released.

The roadway was closed in both directions for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the wreckage from the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
