Gastonia, NC (November 3, 2020) – Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, November 3, a train accident involving a vehicle occurred in Gastonia.
According to police, the accident took place on the train tracks in the area of Bush Street and South York Road when a train struck a vehicle that was crossing the tracks. Police are not yet sure why the vehicle was crossing at that time.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to assist those in need at the scene of the accident. They found that one person was injured as a result of the crash. However, the extent of the injuries is not yet known.
Traffic resumed as normal in the area throughout the afternoon.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
