Goldsboro, NC (August 29, 2020) – Early this morning, police responded to a car accident that took place at an intersection in Goldsboro.
The accident, according to police, happened at the intersection of US-13 and Old Mount Olive Highway when two vehicles collided with one another. Police have not yet confirmed the circumstances leading up to the collision.
According to authorities, one of the passengers in a vehicle started to become belligerent toward EMS personnel and started to yell at them. The passenger became increasingly violent and had to be forcefully restrained by police at the scene.
Paramedics continued to assist at the scene and confirmed that three patients were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. All of the parties are expected to recover.
The vehicles involved were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by wreckers. The accident closed down a portion of the intersection for approximately one hour.
North Carolina Highway Patrol officials continue their investigation into the accident.
