Greensboro, NC (September 21, 2020) – Around 12:54 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, a man was killed in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Greensboro.
According to the Greensboro Police Department, the accident occurred at 2400 Madre Place when a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area. The pedestrian was identified by police as 53-year-old Anthony Hill.
Police confirmed that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and the driver fled the area.
Since then, the suspect turned themselves over to the police. They have been identified as 50-year-old Paul Steven Voss Jr., who has since been charged with first-degree murder.
Police confirmed that the victim and the suspect knew each other in some way but they have not elaborated.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
