Greensboro, NC (August 23, 2020) – On Saturday night, August 22, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Greensboro.
According to officials, 55-year-old Kaysanni Townsend was walking south on Phillips Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle in the eastbound lane of travel. Investigators confirmed that the pedestrian was hit by a silver Ford Taurus headed eastbound and driven by a 26-year-old woman.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident and pronounced Townsend dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured as a result of the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
