Greensboro, NC – Two Killed in Fatal Crash on E Wendover Ave

Greensboro, NC (November 5, 2020) – Around 2:28 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, November 4, two people were killed in a fatal crash in Greensboro.

According to Greensboro Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of East Wendover Avenue and Yanceyville Street. A Hyundai Sonata with three people inside it was heading east on Wendover and a Nissan Altima was heading west. The Nissan drove over the center line and struck the other vehicle head-on.

The driver and passenger inside the Hyundai were both killed. The two parties have since been identified as 43-year-old April Michelle Tate and 65-year-old Lucy Jean Krites.

Another passenger inside the Hyundai and the driver of the Nissan were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Their current conditions are not yet known.

Kristin Killian Lopez, the driver of the Nissan, was charged with felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired, reckless driving, and numerous other charges for her role in the accident.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
