Harmony, NC (September 24, 2020) – Around 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, September 24, a man was injured in a truck crash in Harmony.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Sandy Springs Road. A driver was headed west on the roadway when his vehicle collided with a logging truck alongside the road for unknown reasons.
Due to the severity of the accident, the unidentified driver had to be extricated from their vehicle by fire crews. He was then taken to a local hospital by a medical helicopter. Police confirmed that the victim was alert and speaking when they were present at the scene and is expected to make a full recovery.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes in the area until the police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision continues.
