High Point, NC – John Daniel Injured in Bicycle Crash on N Main St

High Point, NC (September 3, 2020) – Around noon on Saturday, August 29, a man was injured in a serious bicycle accident in High Point.

High Point Police have confirmed that a 59-year-old man named John Daniel was on his bicycle crossing across 901 North Main Street in the area of the High Point Public Library. Daniel was struck by a 2010 Honda Civic being operated by 30-year-old Lorenzo White Jr.

Police were dispatched to the scene of the accident where they discovered that Daniel had injuries as a result of the accident. White fled the scene of the collision.

Witnesses ran across the street so that they could assist Daniel while several other people followed the Honda Civic. They were able to chase White down to a block away from the accident. He was charged with multiple crimes including DWI, driving on a revoked license, hit-and-run, and more.

Daniel is currently at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he remains in critical condition at this time.
