Jackson, NC (December 15, 2020) – Around 6 p.m. on Monday evening, December 14, a fatal head-on crash took the lives of two people in Jackson.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the crash took place on US-158. According to police, 20-year-old Jalik Fields was driving his 1999 Toyota with 22-year-old Charles Futrell Jr. as a passenger. He had two other passengers in the back of the vehicle.
Fields was driving along on the highway around the area of Boones Millpond when his vehicle collided head-on with a Chrysler being driven by 30-year-old Darnell Holder for reasons that are not yet fully understood.
Fields and Futrell were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision due to severe trauma. A total of four people between the two cars were injured and hospitalized. Their conditions are not known at this time.
No further details have been released but the investigation is ongoing.
