Kenansville, NC (November 8, 2020) – Around 8:50 a.m. on Friday morning, November 6, a tractor-trailer collision occurred in Kenansville.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the accident took place at the intersection of NC-24 and NC-50. The driver of a tractor-trailer allegedly ran the red light at the intersection, slamming into a gray sedan. The sedan was left with extensive front-end and side-impact damages.
A mother was pinned inside the sedan and her three children were thrown from the vehicle due to the impact caused by the crash. All of the victims were taken to a local hospital and are expected to survive, though they suffered an array of injuries.
The driver of the truck was cited for running the red light.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
