Knightdale, NC – Nine Injured in DUI Car Accident on US-64

Knightdale, NC (August 24, 2020) – Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night, August 22, nine people were injured in a DUI car accident on a Knightdale highway.

Police confirmed that the accident happened late Saturday night on US-64 around the area of Rolesville Road. A vehicle allegedly crashed into two other cars that were stopped on the side of the highway because of mechanical problems. Police confirmed that the driver who struck the two vehicles was driving intoxicated at the time.

Wake County officials, fire crews, and paramedics all responded to the scene of the accident. Between the three vehicles, nine people were injured as a result of the accident. They were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

It is believed that the intoxicated driver was charged for their role in the accident.

Traffic was delayed in the area until the police were able to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
