Lexington, NC (November 21, 2020) – Troopers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to calls of a car striking two pedestrians who were walking along Highway 8 on Friday, November 20th, and then fled the scene.
At about 8:40 p.m., local law enforcement reported to the scene of a car accident near City Lake Road where a 2009 Acura TSX that was driving northbound struck two pedestrians on the shoulder of the highway.
Both pedestrians were transported via ambulance to Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem. They have since been identified as 40-year-old Joshua Caleb Crocker, a resident of Lexington, and 46-year-old John Tracy Jones, a resident of Winston-Salem. The men sustained critical and minor injuries, respectively.
This accident is under investigation by local law enforcement.
