Littleton, NC – Man Killed in Fatal Vehicle Collision on NC-4

Littleton, NC (September 10, 2020) – Around 6 a.m. this morning, a man was killed in a fatal vehicle collision on a major highway in Littleton.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident took place on NC-4 when a driver was driving drunk. The driver lost control of the vehicle, running off the road to the right. He then overcorrected and struck a tree.

The passenger in the vehicle, identified only as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver was taken to Vidant in Greenville by a medical helicopter. He has since been listed in critical condition but will be served a citation for driving under the influence.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
