Mooresville, NC (September 4, 2020) – Last night, September 3, one person was killed in a fatal crash that took place in Mooresville.
Police confirmed that the collision occurred on Oak Tree Road when a driver lost control of their pickup truck, causing it to strike a power pole off the side of the road. The accident led to severe damages in the pickup truck. Police said that the accident caused a power outage that affected approximately 700 people in the area.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the accident. One party, identified as 26-year-old Zachary Speicher, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. One person was treated for injuries at the scene, identified as 33-year-old Andrew Kindley.
Police confirmed that the crash took place due to speed and alcohol.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
