Nashville, NC (October 19, 2020) – Around 7:25 a.m. on Monday morning, October 19, a serious tractor-trailer accident took place in Nashville.
Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the crash took place when a white Kia Optima and an SUV were driving in the right lane of southbound I-95 this morning. The driver of the Optima started to pass the SUV, which is when the Optima and a tractor-trailer collided with each other.
The tractor-trailer driver lost control of his vehicle and went off the road, where it overturned in the median. The Optima also drove off the road into the median.
The tractor-trailer was carrying rolls of paper, which spilled out onto the highway and all over the median.
The driver of the truck, as well as the driver of the Optima, were both injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was closed down in numerous lanes until 3:30 p.m.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Truck Accidents in North Carolina
Truck accidents are common in North Carolina due to the fact that the state is home to many highways where trucks navigate back and forth to other states. In 2016, it was estimated that approximately 14,000 truck accidents took place within the state, some of which led to injuries in those involved. Because trucks are some of the largest vehicles on our roads, they are capable of causing some of the most extensive harm in the event of an accident. If you have suffered injuries as a result of a truck accident, it is essential that you have the help of an attorney by your side.
Truck drivers are some of the safest drivers on our roads, which is why truck accidents do not happen as commonly as other accidents on our roadways. Truck drivers go through months to years of training and have to abide by certain rules and regulations when they hit the roads in their large vehicles. If you have been seriously harmed as a result of a truck accident, it is essential that you seek the immediate help of a North Carolina truck accident attorney. You do not want evidence to disappear too soon. An attorney will be able to help you through the difficulty of a personal injury claim.
