New Bern, NC (October 1, 2020) – On Thursday, October 1, a man was injured in a motorcycle crash that occurred in New Bern involving a truck.
According to the New Bern Police Department, the accident took place on Neuse Boulevard as 54-year-old Michael Miller was driving a 2007 International truck. He attempted to turn right into a parking lot.
Police confirmed that 62-year-old Robert Schutta was traveling behind the truck on his 2012 Harley Davidson. He attempted to stop but lost control of the motorcycle, colliding with the back of the truck.
Schutta was immediately taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
An early investigation found that Miller’s International truck did not have working brake lights. He has since been charged with having improper equipment.
