Raleigh, NC – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Crabtree Blvd

Raleigh, NC (October 24, 2020) – Officers from the Raleigh Police Department reported to the scene of a hit-and-run accident during which a pedestrian was killed on Friday, October 23rd. 

Reports state that the incident took place at about 7:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Crabtree Boulevard when a woman attempting to cross the street was struck by a silver sedan later discovered to be driven by 18-year-old Irving Javon Stewart. 

Stewart has since been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, felony hit-and-run, and failure to reduce speed before colliding with a pedestrian.  

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
