Raleigh, NC (December 8, 2020) – Around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, December 8, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred in Raleigh.
Raleigh Police confirmed that the accident took place at 3000 New Bern Avenue around the area of Shanta Drive. A pedestrian woman was walking near the intersection when she was struck by a dark green sedan. The vehicle immediately fled the scene of the crash without stopping. Police have said that they did not find the responsible driver as of yet.
The woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to WakeMed Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes following the collision.
The Raleigh Police Department continues its investigation into the collision.
