Rocky Mount, NC (November 26, 2020) – Jared Allison, a Nash County Sheriff’s deputy, sustained critical injuries during an accident on Thursday, November 26th.
The accident took place in Rocky Mount on U.S. 301.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that the deputy was trying to pull over a motorcycle on U.S. 301 when he collided with a Nissan Maxima that was crossing the highway from Old Mill Road.
The impact ran the cruiser off the road and caused it to roll over.
According to eyewitnesses, the police car went airborne, flipped about 10 times in the air, then crashed into the ground where it flipped about another 10 times.
Allison was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
The two occupants in the Maxima were transported to the emergency room at Nash General Hospital. Their injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.
This crash is currently under investigation.
