Rowland, NC (August 28, 2020) – Around 9 a.m. this morning, a woman was killed in a truck crash in Rowland.
The accident, according to police, took place at the intersection of Dew Road and Union School Road. A 65-year-old named Kenneth White was operating his tractor-trailer traveling east on Union School when the truck collided with a vehicle headed southbound.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was identified as Kimberly Locklear. Her vehicle went off the side of the road and overturned onto its roof. The tractor-trailer also went off the road and rolled onto its side.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the accident. Locklear was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. White was hospitalized at Southeastern Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
