Salisbury, NC – Ebony Evans-Kindle Killed in Truck Crash on I-85

Salisbury, NC (August 28, 2020) – A woman was killed in a truck accident that took place on I-85 in Salisbury, according to police.

Police confirmed that the accident happened on August 27, around 7:30 p.m. At the time, Ebony Evans-Kindle was stranded on the side of the road in the southbound lanes of I-85 in her Mitsubishi as she waited for help.

Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer was driving through the area with a mower in the back, which struck the Mitsubishi as it drove by. The vehicle was forcefully sent into a guardrail. It was then struck head-on by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Evans-Kindle was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There was a small child in her vehicle who was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The roadway was closed in several lanes for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
