Salisbury, NC (October 13, 2020) – On Friday around 10 a.m., police confirmed that a rear-end accident involving an ambulance took place in Salisbury.
The accident, according to police, took place in an unidentified area of Salisbury. The crash took place at an intersection when an ambulance was waiting in the area and was rear-ended by a silver Chrysler.
The paramedic who was driving got out of the vehicle and spoke with the driver of the Chrysler. The paramedic confirmed that the driver agreed that he would pull over in a parking lot but, instead, he fled the scene of the accident.
The patient who was being transported by the paramedic reported back pain stemming from the collision. No other parties were injured.
A three-year-old child was in the other vehicle at the time of the accident and police confirmed that the vehicle smelled like marijuana. It is not known if any charges were brought.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
