Statesville, NC (October 25, 2020) – Around 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 23, a pedestrian accident with injuries occurred in Statesville.
Charlotte officials confirmed that the accident occurred on Radio Road just north of Hartness Road. Police originally said that a woman was struck in a pedestrian accident. They later confirmed that the woman was struck on purpose, though the circumstances leading up to this are not yet known.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The victim was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries.
The suspect fled the scene of the accident and it is not known if they were found by police.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
