Troutman, NC (October 6, 2020) – On Tuesday morning, October 6, a head-on collision with injuries took place in Troutman.
North Carolina Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the crash took place on Ostwalt Amity Road near the area of Arthurs Road. Three people were seriously injured as a result of the accident.
According to police, a 43-year-old woman from Statesville was driving a Chevrolet Malibu traveling west on Ostwalt Amity Road. She was identified as 43-year-old Suzanne Stewart. The vehicle suddenly crossed the centerline, where it struck a Ford Escape driven by 40-year-old Ashley Thompson.
Both women were transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of their injuries. A 5-year-old child in Stewart’s vehicle was airlifted to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The parties are expected to recover.
A portion of Ostwalt was closed for approximately one hour following the collision.
No further details have been released. The investigation continues.
