Wilmington, NC (November 9, 2020) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, November 9, a car crash occurred at an intersection in Wilmington.
According to officials, the accident took place when a pickup truck and an SUV collided at the intersection of Independence Boulevard and Canterbury Road. Due to the force of the collision, the SUV ran off the road and hit the First Baptist Church Activities Center sign.
A mother and toddler from one of the vehicles were the only two people injured as a result of the accident. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment, though they are expected to be okay.
Traffic was diverted for an extended period of time following the collision.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues at this time.
