Winston-Salem, NC (October 14, 2020) – Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, October 13, a two-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Winston-Salem.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials confirmed that the collision took place in the southbound lanes of NC-109 when a Lexis and a Honda passenger vehicle collided head-on with each other.
The Lexis was being driven by a 39-year-old, John Phillip Pope. The Honda passenger vehicle was driven by 21-year-old Taylor Elise Smith. Both drivers were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
Police are not yet sure about the circumstances leading up to the accident that blocked multiple lanes of traffic for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
