Albertson, NC (February 21, 2021) – Around noon on Saturday, February 20, a head-on collision took place on a roadway in Albertson.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 11 around the area of Woodland Church Road. Police confirmed that the accident occurred when a U-Haul and an SUV collided head-on due to reasons that are not yet known.
Fire crews were present at the scene and extricated two occupants from the SUV. A medical helicopter was there to transport multiple injured victims. In total, four victims were injured due to the collision. Their conditions are not yet known.
A section of the highway was blocked in the area for a period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
